The Spicy Lamb Farm celebrates the abundance of life with local food, fiber, and fun. This Cuyahoga Valley National Park farm welcomes you to come out and learn more about sustainable farming and environmental stewardship. On the farm, we raise Dorset sheep, have an orchard with organic varieties of apple, pears, and plums, and a spicy herb/vegetable garden. Enjoy our gourmet lamb, fruit, and spices. Visit our shop for an assortment of wool blankets, yarns, roving, and fiber crafts. And, in addition to farming activities, The Spicy Lamb Farm provides agtourism opportunities for visitors. The farm is a scenic and peaceful place to visit. Throughout the year, you can enjoy:

Lecture: The Shepherd’s Calendar: Wednesday, May 1st, 7pm: This lecture will provide an overview of what happens when on The Spicy Lamb Farm. Free.

Lecture: Spice Up your Garden by Growing Herbs: Wednesday, May 8th, 7pm:
Tracy Emrick of the Countrside Conservancy will join us to talk about how to start your own herb garden. Free.

Lecture: Starting a Tall Spindle Orchard: Wednesday, May 15th, 7pm:
Learn about how a tall spindle orchard will provide you with the highest yield of fruit per acre. Free.

Lecture: Cooking with Confidence from the Season's Bounty and your CSA Share: Wednesday, May 22nd, 7pm: This class will be helpful in maximizing usage of your CSA boxes. Heather Walters of the Basket of Life Farm will cover substitution you can make in recipes, what to do with those rare items, and how to utilize items in bulk. It is not taught by a chef, rather by a farmer with lots of experience in utilizing lots of veggies in season, often when tired after a long day! Free.

Lecture: Urban Shepherds Grazing Program, Wednesday, May 29th, 7pm: Save money. Reduce environmental impacts. Stop mowing and start grazing. Learn about how the Urban Shepherds grazing program got started in Cleveland. Free.

Spring Taste of Lamb Dinner: Saturday, May 18th at 6pm: Enjoy a special dinner with a variety of lamb dishes, wine, live music, and a May pole. Fee: $35. Reservations required. 6 p.m.

 Workshop: Wet Felted Soap: Saturday, June 15, 3-4:30pm: Learn the basics of wet felting wool and create a unique soap-in-a-coat to take home with you. No previous felting experience required. Cost: $35 (including materials)

Mid Summers Eve: Friday, June 21th at 7 to 10pm: Join The Spicy Lamb Farm in celebrating the summer solstice with live music and contact jugging summer sprites. The Fairy House Competition winner will be announced. $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Workshop: Tablet (Card) Weaving Workshop: Sunday, June 30, 3-6pm: Create a unique woven camera strap, bookmark or hairpiece using a textile skill practiced as far back as the Iron Age. This loomless weaving technique can be learned in about 20 minutes, and will keep your hands and mind occupied for the rest of your life! Cost includes wooden tablets to take home. Cost: $75 (including materials)

Workshop: Needle Felted Sheep Workshop: Saturday, July 13, 3-6pm: This introduction to sculptural needle felting will cover the basics of creating shapes with a felting needle and joining those shapes to form a smiling woolen sheep to take home. Cost includes extra roving and needle felting tools to take home. Cost: $65 (including materials)

Peninsula Python Day Dinner: Saturday, July 20th at 6pm: Enjoy a special Indian dinner with lamb dishes, wine, and live music. Fee: $35. Reservations required. 6 p.m.

Workshop: Nuno Felted Scarf Workshop: Saturday, July 27, 3-6pm: Learn the art of making a beautiful, ethereal scarf using wet felting techniques. Using a silk scarf as a base, learn how to layer on wool from sheep and angora goats, all hand dyed by your instructor. Learn about wet felting, while picking up tips about color and texture. Experiment with vibrant colors and fibers and leave the workshop with a one-of-a-kind beautiful scarf! Cost: $75 (including materials)

Fall Lecture Series: Wednesday nights in September at 7pm: The Spicy Lamb Farm will be holding a lecture series with guest experts in our educational pavilion. Details to follow. Free.

Fall Taste of Lamb Dinner: Saturday, September 21st at 6pm: Enjoy a special lamb dinner, wine, and live music. Fee: $35. Reservations required. 6 p.m.

The Blessing of the Animals: October 5th. 12 to 2pm: Come to our Blessing of the Animals with bagpipes and herding demonstrations. $10 for adults and $5 for children.

Cuyahoga Valley Sheep Dog Herding Trials: October 19th/20th. The Spicy Lamb Farm will be hosting Open, Nursery, Pro-Novice, and Ranch Trial Classes beginning at 8am each day. Spectators will be welcome at $5 per person. Saturday dinner at the GAR Hall TBA.
